Survived the Laurelton party scene as a teen, which was great preparation for my business career which was basically a continuation of the same. sold the buffalo herd in 2003 Currently living in Allentown, NJ. I have been living here in Maryland for 18 years and have met so many people who are from the old neighborhood or know someone from Rosedale/Laurelton. I've kept in touch with a bunch of folks listed on Classmates, but this site is awesome! great to find this site and read about so many people that were at Jackson during my four years. I had great teachers in Miss Hellgoth, Miss Fleming, Mr. Hello, all of you who shared in my childhood and teen years. So many of you have written about SING, and I remember writing those songs and, with Jessie Tillman, leading those fabulous shows. A few of you have contacted me with lyrics--I had forgotten them. I went to PS 156, then JHS 59 with Alan Ross, Bruce Cassidy, George Tenenbaum, Jeff Weiss, Barry Lucas. Website: too, have many wonderful memories of Laurelton life. Taught at Riverhead HS with Alan Weinstock right out of college. My son is a third year medical student and my daughter is a freshman at Hamilton College. Although I was only 9 when we moved, Laurelton was always the best. Lived next to Arthur Mack, Howie Miller, Harvey Blumenfeld, Gary Weinstein, Joel Levine & Beatrice Brown. I have so many wonderful memories of growing up in Laurelton. Now we are old enough to appreciate what that sense of close community means, and how much it shaped who we all are today. Lived at 131-64 229th Street with my sister Ellen  & Debby [SGHS 1970]. She was a sweet kid and suffered a great loss when her Dad, Nick, died of a heart attack in the summer of '62 or '63. After graduating in 1960, I attended the University of Michigan and graduated from NYU uptown in 1963. I would love to hear from friends from those times. I lived in Laurelton all my life until I married by husband Mel in 1971. I'm learning to play bridge and I'm doing line dancing! I am now inspired to dig out my scrapbooks and photo albums. I will keep returning to this site and will try to keep up. It's so great to be part of this Laurelton website. We are still in contact w/friends from school & temple. I'm retired living in NC now and the Laurelton site brings back so many wonderful memories. Have three fantastic children and have been married for 30 years. Born in Rosedale 1942, moved to Francis Lewis Blvd.& 131st Ave at 2 years of age and then to 227th street and 137th Ave as a young teen. Roz ('59) and I ('64) graduated from Andrew Jackson. What a delight to find this website and to spend time reliving the memories everyone has contributed. ), Gary Golden, Phil Radin, Peterson Twins, Paul Sklar my dearest and best friend (sadly taken at the age of about 30). I lived in Cambria Heights, a few blocks from AJHS. My parents used to drive me to Laurelton to meet my friends at Lil & Eds. My younger brother Mark lives in Smithtown with his wife and 2 kids, 16 and 21. Website: lived at 137-39 231 Street from 1956-78 with my sister Pamela and brother Roger. We belonged to Temple Beth El and the Sunday night youth group became my local social network: Jeff Weiss, Barry Lucas, Elliott Levine, the Linzer brothers, Louie Abramowitz (my very first date! So much of our lives were molded in Laurelton and Jackson. Mike Kammerman, Mike Ashkin, Bruce Waxman, Howie Levine, and the whole bunch of terrific guys and gals. Between us, we have 5 kids and 6-and-a-half grandchildren. I look forward to now keeping up through this site. Most of my family (Judy Gursky, Robert Gursky) are still in New York but they love to visit us here and so I don't get up there much. I remember bringing "milk money" and "bank money" and having to freeze for 1 minute when the bell rang outside, before lining up.
I then moved to Valley Stream when I was 18..to believe I was ever 18. There was Alan Goldman "gompers", Mark Kessler "count" (Mark got the nick name "count" because he couldn't! We have been living in Dix Hills/Melville since 1974. Recently moved to Carbondale, CO, a short drive to magnificent skiing and summer music festival in Aspen. Still keep in touch with many who never graduated from PS 156 but transferred to JHS 59, and then went on to Jackson. After JHS 59 I went to M&A and lost touch with all my school friends (Madelyn Berman, Maxine Weinstein, Judi Schoenfeld, Margery Lesk, Frankie Fuchs, Jerry Solomon, Howie Polera). (I stage managed "The Man Who Came to Dinner" in 1966 directed by Mr. I have a daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter who live in Manhattan. In Laurelton from 1958 until about 1972 when I got out of the service and "left home". I have 2 married sons and four fantastic grandchildren. 38 for K and 1st and then transferred to 156 through the 5th grade then we moved to Fla. I married a Jackson alum, Warren Muchnick, 24 years ago. My wife of almost 24 years, Bea, and I live in Chester NY, but are in the process of downsizing and eventually looking to go south to the Vero Beach area. Though I last saw Jeff Goodman in 1986, aside from Jill (and on TV Barbie Seagal Nevins), I can't recall seeing anyone else since the 1984 mass Jackson reunion.
My address was 132-02 232 St.,the corner house down the block from the House of Chang, which my family always went once a week for dinner. I moved to Florida 14 years ago, but now live in PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. We had jobs baby sitting, lawn mowing, delivering newspapers, assisting in youth groups and washing cars. Ride a motorcycle with a charitable club composed of Firefighters.
Always looking to get a game of softball going after school at P. Laurelton was, and is, a beautiful neighborhood, and I have only the best memories. Travel to the Caribbean on a regular basis for recreational SCUBA diving on wrecks and reefs.
